AI Lead Engineer description

Who are we looking for?


As AI Lead Engineer, you’ll own the technical direction of AI at trmeric and lead our engineering team into its enterprise phase. You pair deep AI/ML expertise with the leadership to grow a team, the clarity to set architecture, and the presence to drive AI vision with customers and stakeholders. You bring a strong foundation in Computer Science (or a related field) and proven depth across AI, ML, NLP, and data analytics—with Python and modern AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) as your toolkit.

We’re looking for someone who has led AI teams and the design of complex AI systems, can drive AI capability across the product, and can mentor and elevate the engineers around them—an articulate leader who is comfortable in front of enterprise customers and confident steering AI product strategy.

Your mission, should you choose to accept

1.  Lead the AI vision & transformation

Own and articulate trmeric’s AI strategy as we scale to large enterprises. You’ll set the technical roadmap, define how reasoning, orchestration, and agentic AI evolve in our platform, and translate that vision into outcomes our customers can feel. Your grounding in generative AI—knowledge graphs, RAG (including knowledge-based RAG), prompt engineering, fine-tuning, data modeling, and ontologies—lets you push the boundary of what the product can do.

2.  Architect with technique & precision

We move fast without compromising quality. Your command of generative AI techniques—transformer-based architectures (GPT, BERT), VAEs, GANs, and the modern LLM/agentic toolchain—lets you design AI solutions that are robust, scalable, secure, and production-ready. You set the engineering bar: evaluation, observability, and responsible-AI practices that hold up under enterprise scrutiny.

3.  Build & lead the team

You’re not just joining a team—you’re leading one. You’ll grow, mentor, and unblock a diverse group of engineers, set technical standards, and create the conditions for great work. You collaborate seamlessly across product, design, and customer-facing teams to bring ambitious AI projects to life on time and at quality.

4.  Engage customers & drive outcomes

You’re articulate and credible with senior enterprise stakeholders. You translate customer needs into AI capability, communicate complex ideas simply, and partner with go-to-market teams to turn our AI advantage into adoption and trust.

5.  Stay at the frontier

Our environment thrives on continual learning. You experiment with emerging techniques, anticipate shifts in the AI landscape, and bring a growth mindset that keeps trmeric—and the team around you—at the leading edge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading AI/ML teams and owning the architecture of complex, production AI systems at scale.
• Deep expertise in generative AI: LLMs, RAG and knowledge-based RAG, knowledge graphs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and agentic / multi-agent systems.
• Strong foundations in ML, NLP, data modeling, and ontologies; fluency in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience building for enterprise: security, scalability, data governance, evaluation, and responsible/ethical AI.
• Excellent communication—able to influence engineers, executives, and enterprise customers alike.
• A track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar of a team.
